TogglePart 2 - Movement: Releasing What Holds You Back
In our last post, we highlighted the importance of grounding our energy and quieting the mind to overcome obstacles. Healing our mindset extends beyond the mind to our body, as our mental and physical conditions are interconnected. This is where the movement of energy plays a vital role in our well being. Stress and previous traumas can remain in every cell, impacting our vibration and showing up as headaches, physical discomfort, inflammation, low energy, or a feeling of being stuck. To empower ourselves, we must release trapped energy from our physical bodies.
Clearing Blocked Energy
Releasing any blockages allows us to clear the way for new opportunities. Here are some simple yet powerful methods to help our stagnant energy flow freely. By adding these techniques into our routine, we can promote a sense of balance and well being. Embracing these exercises can result in a more healthy and fulfilling life.
Breathwork:
Practicing deep breathing exercises is one of the fastest methods to release trapped energy. When we concentrate on taking slow, deliberate breaths, we allow old energy to exit and new, vibrant energy to enter. It’s an easy way to feel more balanced and centred right away.
Journalling:
Writing down our thoughts can be a powerful way to declutter our minds. By putting pen to paper, we create a space for our feelings and ideas to flow freely, making it easier for us to process them. Journaling allows us to express our emotions and release any pent-up feelings, ultimately lightening our mental load and providing clarity on the challenges we face.
Tapping (EFT):
Emotional Freedom Technique, or Tapping, is a beautiful blend of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. By gently tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on an emotion, you are essentially giving your nervous system a ‘reboot’. It is also a powerful tool for lowering stress and calming heightened anxiety.
Movement Practices
As mentioned earlier the link between our bodies and minds is very interconnected. Being active does more than just raise our heart rates; it also helps us to release built up emotions and stress. When we work out, whether it’s walking, dancing, or doing Qi Gong, we give ourselves a chance to drop emotional baggage, which gives us more energy. This not only boosts our physical fitness it also plays a major role in our mental clarity and emotional balance. By making movement a priority, we recognise the complex connection between how we feel physically and emotionally.
Understanding how important movement is in our every day lives is important for our overall health. Regular exercise serves as a natural way to deal with stress, making it easier for us to handle life’s challenges. As we participate in different types of physical activities, we build a sense of strength and resilience, which can enhance our self esteem and lead to a more positive view of life.
Taking care of our bodies through movement is essential for our overall well being. It supports emotional and mental health, contributing to a complete sense of wellness that enhances all aspects of our lives.
Benefits of Movement
Find activities that make you happy and motivate you to be active, like walking in the park, hiking, qi gong, tai chi, or dancing. These physical activity serves as a powerful tool for mental clarity.
Walking:
Engaging in activities like walking in nature or any form of exercise that we enjoy can greatly enhance our mood. When we move our body, it triggers the release of endorphins, which are often referred to as the body’s natural mood elevators. These chemicals assist in reducing stress and anxiety, and they enhance our overall sense of happiness and well being.
Engaging in physical activity can help clear our minds and improve our mental well being. Activities like walking can create a meditative state, allowing a person to focus on the present moment and reduce stress. This combination of movement and mental relaxation can lead to a more positive outlook on life, making it easier to handle challenges and appreciate daily moments.
Qi Gong and Tai Chi:
Qi Gong and Tai Chi are ancient Chinese practices that help connect the body and mind through smooth, gentle movements. These movements aim to build and balance vital energy, called Qi, which is important for good health and well being.
By engaging in slow and deliberate motions along with deep breathing, we become more flexible, stronger, clear minded, and emotionally stable. People of all ages and fitness levels can participate and enjoy the benefits. As we move through the sequences, we often experience a deep sense of relaxation and peace, which can help reduce stress and anxiety.
The flowing movements of these exercises encourage mindfulness, allowing us to let go of our daily distractions and focus on the present moment. Regular participation in these exercises can improve physical health, mental sharpness, and emotional balance.
Chakra Dancing:
Chakra dancing is a unique form of movement that encourages us to connect deeply with our body’s energy centres. This practice involves intuitive movements that allow a person to express themselves freely while focusing on the different chakras, or energy points, within the body.
Each chakra is associated with a specific colour, and as dancers move, they visualise these colours, which helps to enhance their awareness and connection to their inner selves. By engaging in this mindful dance, individuals can tap into their emotions and physical sensations, creating a holistic experience that promotes self discovery and healing.
Chakra dancing also serves as a powerful tool for releasing negative energy that may be trapped within the body. As a person flow through the movements, they can identify and let go of any emotional blockages or stress that they may be carrying.
Vibrational Healing:
A vibration plate is a great tool for relieving pain, fatigue, and anxiety. It is especially helpful for improving lymphatic system function, circulation, and releasing tension in deep tissue (fascia). Fascia, is the tissue that connects our muscles and organs, can hold, store, and reflect emotional stress and trauma. It acts like a memory system by tightening or creating tension patterns, particularly during fight or flight situations. This results in the physical retention of long lasting trauma patterns.
You can achieve wonderful results even with a basic vibrational plate model, so no need for an expensive one. Opt for manual settings over pre-set programs for the best results. Use a chair or wall for support if necessary to maintain balance. A mindful 10 minute session can have a major impact. Improve your experience by adding deep breathing, tensing your muscles, swinging your arms and occasionally standing on your toes. For those more experienced, mixing in upper body tai chi or yoga moves can lead to an even more in depth experience.
Designing Your Future
Once we begin clearing out outdated programming and stagnant energy, we are left with a blank canvas. Now is the time to design a flexible plan for your desires. As we grow, our desires evolve, which is why we must leave rigid behaviours behind. We need to leave room for the magic to happen. If your path takes a detour, remember it may mean:
What you currently desire might not be in your best interest.
There are better alternatives waiting for you.
There is a lesson to grasp before you can move to the next stage.
Now to let the magic in:
Visualise: Take a few minutes daily to envision your goals. How does your ideal life actually feel?
Break it Down: Large changes can feel daunting. Divide your journey into small, achievable steps using SMART planning (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time bound). Celebrate every small win!
Combine Your Tools: Clear the mind through meditation, set intentions with affirmations, and bring those intentions to life through movement.
Your Soul’s Path:
The journey of becoming the author of your own life is an ongoing adventure. These tools aren’t just quick fixes; they are lifelong companions that empower us to clear the fog of the past and step into a future of our own design.
The stage is set, and the spotlight is yours. What will your next scene be? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
